Shipped a production event SaaS as sole engineer in about 15 days.
Problem
Scoped as a small North-America-only automation task. A spreadsheet or script would have been fragile for multi-session, multi-timezone events with certifications and attendance tracking.
Intervention
Sole engineer and architect. Event and session management, public registration with unique deep links, admin dashboard, Zoom attendance with manual match, certification progress, reminder emails at 7 days / 24 hours / 1 hour, Flodesk segmentation, and ICS calendar flows. Raised in writing that continued work exceeded contracted scope and negotiated a time-boxed stabilization window rather than absorbing silent creep.
Result
- Used in production for real educator cohort trainings
- Iterated under live testing (timezone/ICS, mobile, UI simplification) before rollout
- Shipped in ~15 days, then explicitly time-boxed remaining stabilization
